You have a vision of spectacular armies marching under your command. You see magnificient heroes and awe-inspiring monsters dominating the field of battle.
I want you to realize your vision.
I am proud to help my fellow gamers and miniatures collectors command the armies and heroes they envision, and offer my services to that end. I'd love to collaborate with you to bring your ideal army to life.
I offer painting from The Tabletop Standard (base colors, shade, and highlight) to The Full Workup (shading, blending, highlighting, and freehand designs), and everything in between.
The price of this service necessarily varies considerably based on many factors, most of which are up to you. Commission services with The Herald's Hold begin with correspondence and collaboration, during which we will discuss a number of things, including:
1) Number of models. I'll paint your army, your unit, or just your single character if that's what
you need.
2) Size and complexity of the models. Obviously one dragon is a different project than one goblin.
3) The desired level of treatment. You may want a full force painted quickly to a sharp, simple
standard, or you may want a labor of love with attention lavished on every detail, or something
in between.
4) Freehand work - none, a little, or a lot. A number of the models shown on this site feature
some amount of freehand painted design, like the banner pictured above. Naturally, the more
freehand involved, the more time and effort required.
5) Overall amount of time required. As with any professional service, the more time invested in a
project, the more the service provider has to charge. When we discuss your project, I'll do my
best to estimate the time involved, both in man hours and for a completion date. You will never
be charged more than agreed upon if a project turns out to take longer than I thought, but some
flexibility may be required as to completion time. The larger the project, the greater the margin
of error may be.
All of these factors, and any special considerations your project requires will be fully discussed in a collaborative process before I begin work, so that we will be on the same page as to how we will bring your miniatures to life.
Finally, know that I don't plan to get rich by painting your models.
Any price quoted is only meant to be a reasonble rate to represent the time and effort involved. I genuinely love painting fantasy and sci-fi minis, and I love helping my fellow gamers field the armies of their dreams.
